Description
A single Yu Hu Chun vessel, carrying the lineage of Song dynasty elegance.
The Yu Hu Chun vase, with its soft and elegant form, has been a classic shape in Chinese porcelain since ancient times. The mouth flares slightly, the neck is slender and elongated, and the shoulder transitions naturally into the body, which gradually tapers toward the base. Its overall curve is subtle and flowing, presenting the dignity and elegance unique to Eastern objects within a minimalist design.
This Ru porcelain reinterprets the Yu Hu Chun vase with an antique-style glaze. The glaze color is calm and soft, not pursuing a single, uniform hue, but naturally presenting variations in depth and layers within the kiln fire. The glaze is fine and warm, with a subtle luster and a jade-like feel to the touch.
Incorporating natural agate into the glaze, it is tempered by high-temperature kiln fire, giving the surface a warmer and richer texture. With use and the passage of time, the surface naturally develops fine crackle patterns. Each line is shaped by the kiln fire and time together, so no two pieces are exactly alike.
The base uses the traditional kick-fire firing technique, allowing the body to be glazed over a large area, presenting a more complete and pure beauty of color. The small kick marks also become artisanal imprints left by hand-firing.
Whether placed on a tea tray, in a study, at the entrance, or on a side table, it can serve as a flower vase or be displayed and appreciated on its own. A single branch, a single flower, or even the empty vessel itself can present a quiet and restrained Song dynasty aesthetic.
