A lid carries the melody; a cup holds the tea.

This Ru porcelain gaiwan inherits the refined spirit of Song-dynasty tea ware. Its simple, unadorned form evokes the understated, unhurried beauty of Eastern tea culture. Agate is incorporated into the glaze, which is fired at high temperatures to achieve a gentle, elegant hue reminiscent of a sky cleared by rain, with a soft, restrained sheen. Smooth and delicate to the touch, the glaze feels as gentle beneath the fingers as fine jade.

The bowl, lid, and saucer come together in flowing lines and elegant, simple proportions. Lift the lid slightly, and the tea’s fragrance wafts forth; as you hold the bowl and sip, the vessel and tea complement each other, turning every tasting into a quiet moment spent in the company of classical beauty.

The “Chanting Ru Porcelain” gaiwan collection brings traditional Ru porcelain craftsmanship to the modern tea table, embodying the elegance of the Song dynasty through skilled handcraft. Each piece has its own distinctive character, shaped by variations in glaze color, crackle patterns, and kiln firing. With every cup of tea, appreciate the beauty of the vessel and help carry a thousand-year-old tea culture forward into contemporary life.
