Description
The sunflower-rimmed bowl draws inspiration from the traditional sunflower form, with naturally undulating rims and orderly, unfurling petals. Soft curves extend from the rim to the body, presenting a subtle and elegant Song dynasty aesthetic within its minimalist design.
The body is finished with an antique-style glaze in calm, soft tones. Rather than pursuing a single, uniform color, it reveals natural, delicate variations in the glaze forged by the kiln fire. The glaze is warm and fine, feeling like jade to the touch, and reveals rich yet understated layers under different lighting and viewing angles.
Traditional agate-in-glaze techniques are used, followed by high-temperature reduction firing to give the glaze surface a soft, lustrous, and profound texture. After firing, natural crazing gradually forms on the surface, with the density and direction of the patterns naturally created by the kiln fire. As a result, each piece possesses its own unique texture and spirit.
The base is fired on stilts, allowing the piece to be fully glazed as much as possible during firing, leaving only small stilt marks and showcasing the traditional beauty of Ru ware's "fully glazed, wrapped foot" craftsmanship.
The sunflower-rimmed bowl can serve as a tea tray rinse bowl or tea accessory stand, and is also suitable for incense displays, scholar's studios, or home décor. Placed in a corner, it is unpretentious yet possesses the elegant and refined spirit of a Song dynasty vessel.
