Thank you for learning about our brand story.
Chuan Song Ru Porcelain is a ceramic manufacturer based in Ruzhou, Henan Province, China—the birthplace of Ru kiln celadon. All our Ru kiln celadon is made using local materials and traditional glazes from Ruzhou, meticulously crafted through 72 processes. The craftsmanship is refined, and the forms are simple yet elegant. Made with precious agate glaze, each piece has a distinctive color and a warm, refined luster, pure and elegant as jade.

Ru kiln celadon is renowned for having been produced for only about 20 years before being lost amid the turmoil of war. In 1952, the Chinese government ordered the revival of Ru kiln production. Our ancestors gathered local materials, continually refined the formulas, and conducted repeated test firings. After testing more than 300 formulas and firing over 1,500 kiln trials, they finally found the ideal combination of minerals and successfully fired porcelain in four shades of celadon in July 1988.
Despite countless failures, our ancestors never gave up. They ultimately revived “celadon Ru porcelain,” lost for more than 800 years, and founded the Chuan Song Ru Porcelain brand. Throughout our development, we have honored the dedication of the artisans who came before us and faithfully carried on China’s ancient and exceptional ceramic craftsmanship.

We remain committed to both tradition and innovation. Over the past several decades, three generations of artisans have incorporated the principles of modern design into our work, bringing the minimalist aesthetic of the Song dynasty into contemporary life. We value handcraftsmanship and are dedicated to creating functional pieces that combine modern beauty with everyday use.

In 2021, we received the German Red Dot Design Award. In 2023, as a representative brand of China’s intangible cultural heritage, our works were exhibited at the Louvre in France. Our designs have won more than 20 national gold and silver awards and have been presented at diplomatic events or collected by dignitaries around the world.
We are home to numerous masters of China’s intangible cultural heritage, set industry standards for Ru porcelain in China, and serve as a center for preserving Ru porcelain culture. Many of our works have been presented by the Chinese government as state gifts to leaders of various countries, including Emperor Akihito, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, President Ronald Reagan, President Barack Obama, and Queen Elizabeth II.
