  1. Are these products made in China? How is their quality?

All products on this website are made in China and come from the Ruzhou Ru ware celadon region. Each product is meticulously crafted through 72 production steps, meets the highest quality standards, and has passed national quality inspections and EU CE certification. The use of natural minerals and traditional production methods results in a relatively low yield, but preserves the purity and beauty of Ru ware celadon. We do not use chemical glazes.

  1. How can I confirm a product's dimensions and capacity?

Detailed dimensions are listed on each product page. However, as measurements are taken by hand, there may be slight discrepancies. Please refer to the actual product.

  1. Can Ru ware celadon be used in an oven?

Ru ware celadon is generally not recommended for oven use for the following reasons:

  • Temperature changes: High oven temperatures or sudden temperature changes can cause the celadon to expand or contract, potentially leading to cracks or breakage.

  • Delicate glaze: Ru ware celadon has a very delicate glaze that may crack at high temperatures.

  • Not designed for high temperatures: Ru ware celadon is not designed to withstand extremely high temperatures and is unsuitable for the operating conditions of modern ovens.

  1. Can it be used in a microwave or dishwasher?

Ru ware celadon is generally not recommended for use in microwaves or dishwashers for the following reasons:

  • Microwave:

    • Glaze crazing: High temperatures may create fine cracks in the glaze, and uneven heating can cause them to spread.

    • Uneven heating: Temperature differences between the inside and surface may cause cracking or damage.

    • Metal decoration: If the item has metal decorations, they may spark in the microwave, creating a safety hazard.

  • Dishwasher:

    • High temperatures and strong water jets: These may damage the glaze, especially on older or thin porcelain.

    • Detergent chemicals: Harsh chemicals may erode the glaze.

    • Risk of impact: Dishes may collide inside the dishwasher and damage the porcelain.

  1. How should Ru ware celadon be cared for?

Follow these care tips to keep Ru ware celadon looking beautiful:

  • Hand-wash:

    • Wash with a mild detergent and soft cloth. Avoid hard brushes or steel wool, which can scratch the glaze.

    • Use warm water. Avoid very hot or ice-cold water to prevent cracks caused by sudden temperature changes.

  • Avoid chemicals:

    • Avoid strong cleaners, bleach, and acidic cleaning products, as these may erode the glaze.

  • Washing and drying:

    • Dry with a soft cloth immediately after washing. Do not soak for a long time or leave it to air-dry, as this may cause the glaze to peel or discolor.

  • Storage and use:

    • Avoid sudden temperature changes: Do not move it directly from the refrigerator to hot water or a heated appliance, as this may cause cracks or breakage.

    • Handle with care: Avoid bumps and drops during use. Ru ware celadon is relatively delicate and can break easily.

    • Avoid high-temperature appliances: Do not use in a microwave, oven, or dishwasher.

    • Avoid direct sunlight: Store away from direct sunlight to prevent the glaze from fading or deteriorating.

  1. I found cracks in the product. Is this a defect?

Crazing refers to the natural cracks that form in a porcelain glaze. It is not a defect, but a distinctive feature.

Causes of crazing:

  1. During forming, the clay stretches in a particular direction, affecting the arrangement of its molecules.

  2. The clay and glaze have different coefficients of expansion, so the glaze contracts as it cools after firing.

Crazing was once considered a defect, but after its patterns were understood and it was developed into a crazed glaze, it became a distinctive decorative feature of porcelain. As renowned collector Ma Weidu put it: “The highest form of beauty is the beauty of imperfection.”
